Overview

OrchidGrid for .NET is a powerful grid control.

You can use an OrchidGrid control to display data with or without an underlying data source. Hierarchical data source is supported. Without specifying a data source, you can create columns and rows that contain data and add them directly to the OrchidGrid. Alternatively, you can set the DataSource and DataMember properties to bind the OrchidGrid to a data source and automatically populate it with data.

You can use an OrchidGrid control to parse/import data from text files, such as Delimited files, Fixed-length files or Text files that contain patterns. Import Wizard works similar to that in Excel, which could navigate you specify the information of the text file. Whenever the data is imported, you can read/write/sort/group or do any processing on the data, you can also export the data to another Excel file or delimiter file.

OrchidGrid control renders the grid's appearance by Style object, which contains a rich set of UI elements. Style is a reuseable object and can be applied to rows, columns, cells or the entire grid. Various border lines can be set to grid cells as well.

You can organize rows in parent-child relationship. It is very easy to build up a tree style grid by accessing the OrchidGrid.Tree property.

OrchidGrid provides a rich set of built-in editors, for example, TextBox, MaskedTextBox, ComboBox, DropdownList, Multicolumn Dropdown, CheckBox, Datetime Picker, NumericUpdown, DomainUpdown, CircleText etc..

Grouping and Subtotaling
Very easy to group rows or subtotal on columns. Some useful aggregation functions are supported, for example, Sum, Average,

As simple as a tree control, you can create a tree by adding nodes to parent node, starting from the root node. Of course, you do not
lose the rich style of grid rendering.

Filtering
Filter the rows base on the data you type on the topmost filter row.

Automatically merging
Cells that have the same data can be merged in direction of horizontal, vertical or both.

Manually merging
You can merge cells by code as what you like.

Watermark (Allow adding watermark to grid, snapshot image or printing output)

View Splitting
Split the grid by dragging the pivot bar. Each view has individual scroll but shares the same background data.

Scroll Freezing
Rows or columns can be frozen, without scrolling.

Multiple Editors
A rich set of editors can be used to edit grid data. For example, TextBox, MaskedTextBox, ComboBox, DropdownList, Multicolumn Dropdown, CheckBox, Datetime Picker, NumericUpdown, DomainUpdown, CircleText etc.
